The Life Saving Power of Coffee

How did you get here and where are you going?

Anyone who is reading this likely has a different answer to both of these questions. We are all starting in a different place, with a different destination. While coffee talk likely won’t solve all your problems, we have learned that it can be a POWERFUL catalyst. A catalyst for subsequent actions that will build on each other to push you to crush your goals.

“Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle, or your middle to someone else’s end.”
~ Tim Hiller

The lifesaving power of coffee comes from the power of connection, the ability of coffee to bring people together. Coffee talk is SO powerful that even people who don’t drink coffee will meet for coffee.

So how did we harness the Power of Coffee and what did we learn along the way?

Uncovering Your SuperPower
(ours is coffee)

If you want to grow, you need to become active participant in your own success. Before you run out and start over-caffeinating, take the time to complete a self-inventory of your SuperPowers: what skills, resources, tools, talents do you bring to the table? What areas do you need to enhance? What is it you are hoping to achieve? Where is the next stop on your journey? What goals are you really looking to achieve and who can help you along the way? Know

Coffee Talk Connections

You can’t harness the power of coffee without choosing to ASK someone for coffee in the first place. If you don’t know where to start, ask someone you already know to be your first coffee and share with them the Coffee Story. Ask a colleague or friend to connect you with someone in their network and seek out people who will force you to level up. A note of caution here: be clear on your purpose, you want your coffee connection to understand why it is your asking for coffee and what you’re hoping to gain, but also bring to the table.

The Power of Coffee Talk

The true power of coffee talk comes from taking the time afterward to reflect on what you gained. A true coffee connection means that your coffee has informed your perspective. It is not exclusively a social engagement, or an acquaintance, a coffee connection is a meaningful exchange with lasting impact. Keep a record of who you’ve had coffee with, what you learned and the next steps you’ll take to make your next coffee connection.
